Good Morning, y'all. It is a beautiful Thursday upon which to serve the Lord.
Oaklawn Baptist met last night for prayer, and Pastor Ed asked us to split into two groups: men in one, women in the other, and pray together over our list of petitions. More than one good Bible scholar has referred to prayer as a Christian's Heavy Artillery in spiritual warfare. It is our Scriptural way to act at a distance to take down the strongholds of the Enemy so that God's Will be done. In praying together, Oaklawn Baptist follows the commandments of our King, and serving Him as He commanded us to do. We also serve each other as He commanded us to do when we pray with each other and for each other.
James 5:16 says,
"Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16
Amen.
